Nato da oltre trent’anni di ricerca di Elisa Barucchieri sui rituali, i miti e l’immaginario del Sud Italia, Progetto delle Radici riunisce differenti firme coreografiche in un’unica visione. Una ricerca che sceglie il dialogo tra poetiche diverse per interrogare una stessa domanda: come possono le radici continuare a trasformarsi e generare futuro?
Creazioni autonome e complementari osservano la medesima radice da soglie differenti:
MORS apre la soglia del mito. Il corpo attraversa gli archetipi, mentre ragno, serpente e scorpione custodiscono il confine tra morte e rinascita, paura e conoscenza. La musica dal vivo rende il rito una presenza viva, sospesa tra memoria e trasformazione.
LU BACIU SANTU apre la soglia della scelta. Immagina un corpo che sceglie il morso e accetta di attraversare ciò che può trasformarlo. La danza diventa energia contemporanea, dove desiderio, vulnerabilità e forza si intrecciano in un unico gesto.
Più che raccontare un territorio, Progetto delle Radici trasforma la memoria in esperienza e la tradizione in materia viva, affidando a sguardi coreografici differenti una visione comune: fare della danza un luogo in cui il passato continua a interrogare il presente.

Elisa Barucchieri’s thirty-year study of southern Italy’s rituals, myths, and cultural imagination gave birth to Progetto delle Radici (The Roots Project), which unites various choreographic voices under one artistic vision. It is a research journey that embraces diverse artistic perspectives to explore a shared question: How can roots continue to transform and shape the future? Two autonomous yet complementary creations approach the same roots from different vantage points. MORS opens the gateway to myth. The body traverses archetypes while the spider, snake, and scorpion guard the boundary between death and rebirth, fear and knowledge. Live music brings the ritual to life, suspended between memory and transformation.Lu Baciu Santu enters the realm of choice. It envisions a body that embraces the bite and allows itself to be transformed. Dance becomes a contemporary energy where desire, vulnerability, and strength intertwine in a single gesture. The Progetto delle Radici (The Roots Project) does more than simply recount a territory; it transforms memory into experience and tradition into living matter. The project entrusts a shared vision to various choreographic perspectives, making dance a space where the past continues to challenge the present.
